A good four years ago, we came across Blak Emoji , became friends, and have been seeing Blak Emoji live whenever we could and were overjoyed when Blak Emoji joined our showcase lineup for Northside 2016. There are no live events happening these days but so are other important events and initiatives that we want to support.

Called to action by current events, music veterans Bryan Edwards and Kelsey Warren of Blak Emoji created JUNETEENTH: MIXTAPE 2020 to celebrate and uphold black culture while financially contributing to organizations that directly benefit the black community.

20 black independent artists including Grammy-winners FANTASTIC NEGRITO and VAN HUNT join influential artists NOVA TWINS, THE VELDT, MARCUS MACHADO and BLAK EMOJI on this 20-song compilation album of predominantly unreleased recordings.

JUNETEENTH: MIXTAPE 2020 is available for download on Bandcamp beginning June 20th with all proceeds going to Black Lives Matter and SisterSong.
